The Potomac area has needed a great deli for quite some time now. Fortunately, things will change when Brooklyn’s Deli and Catering opens in the Potomac Woods shopping center this January.
There is already a Brooklyn’s Deli off Travilah Road in Rockville, which will remain open after the new one is opened, despite their proximity.
Brooklyn’s Deli provides the traditional deli aura and is accompanied by prompt service and delectable sandwiches stacked high with meat cut fresh for each sandwich. Brooklyn ’s Deli is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout the week.
The menu is diverse yet reasonably priced for the amount of food that is given for each meal with plenty of options for what you are craving and how much money you are willing to spend. There are numerous options for salads ($8 – $9), soups ($4 – $5) and sandwiches ($8 – $11).
For any sandwich ordered there are 12 options for the type of bread, six different types of cheese and a total of 13 different meats. People are encouraged to make any combination of the three to satisfy their hunger, though it costs $1 for each additional cheese added.
Other “Specialty Sandwiches” include Esther’s Delight which consists of hot pastrami, cole slaw and Russian dressing on pumpernickel bread and The Galkin which is made of fresh turkey breast, Havarti cheese, avocado, sprouts, lettuce and tomato on seven grain bread.
Although the food is the same at both locations, if you are accustomed to the Brooklyn’s Deli on Travilah Road, the new location will be a pleasant surprise because of its increased capacity, both inside and outside, allowing a spacious set-up and an easy-to-get-around layout.Brooklyn’s Deli will have the customary deli atmosphere with a modern twist to attract customers from the area. According to Owner Guy Brandt, he hopes to bring a great deli back to the Potomac community and is excited to be a part of the hype for the opening of his new location at Potomac Woods.
Enthusiasm surrounds the opening of Brooklyn’s Deli because of its proximity to CHS for lunch and afterschool snacks. It is also possible to call ahead and place an order to avoid the wait and skip the line.
Brooklyn’s Deli has an admirable determination to bring back a respectable deli to the community. The menu is varied with an abundant amount of options and is guaranteed to make your dining experience exceed your expectations.
