Since many places are closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and many are in quarantine, there is more than enough time in the world to focus on feeling good and looking good. Fitness youtuber Chloe Ting has provided content to help anyone who wants to get in shape, while gyms around the country remain closed.

Chloe Ting is an Australian Bruneian fitness enthusiast who creates workout videos and challenges. She has a wide range of free fitness programs and challenges that require no equipment and can be done in the comfort of your own home. Some of the challenges posted on her channel are the summer two week shred, hourglass and slim thigh programs.

Ting’s youtube channel has grown a tremendous 4.73 million subscribers since the beginning of Mar. and continues to gain an average of eight million views per day. She receives the top one percent of views in the global rank, with over 40 percent of her audience being female and between the ages of 18 to 24.

“I found out about Chloe Ting through a workout group chat I joined with many girls sharing their workouts and empowering other girls to find their own workouts,” sophomore Kayla Song said.

Her popularity has skyrocketed since the start of quarantine, and the results of her workouts shown on her viewers are displayed on different social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok.

The popularity of Ting is growing among groups of teenagers stuck at home and looking to improve their fitness. Each video is around 10-13 minutes, but is usually grouped with others on her free program website at ChloeTing.com.

“Many of my friends recommended her and she has so many videos for every type of workout,” sophomore Phoebe Qian said. “Chloe ting workouts are the perfect amount of challenging.”

Ting also posts a multitude of workout result videos of people who have completed her workouts. This is a huge motivator for people doing her workouts as it reminds them that they can achieve changes through her programs.

“I feel stronger physically and mentally,” Song said. “Having the ability to finish a challenge allows me to have a better mindset in finishing my other goals.”

All of the workout videos are in real time, so having a buddy to do each of the exercises with, which are timed to the amount of seconds you need to do them, makes the time go by all the faster.

“The format of all of her workouts are very uniform and short so they were much easier to follow along than other workouts,” Song said.

Quarantine has given people who are home from work or school an opportunity to work on their mental, emotional and physical health.

“The break helped me realize that I really had no excuse not to workout especially with all the time on my hands.” Song said.

Starting to workout can be hard at first, that is why Chloe Ting has created an amazing supportive community on her channel. A consistent and positive mindset will allow you to get the changes you want.

“Don’t be too hard on yourself at first,” Song said. “Start out easy and then slowly build up. A little bit of exercise is better than nothing.”
