Students Vote For Counselor of the Year Award
February 29, 2016
Counselors deal with schedules, write recommendations and support students in times of need. The Counselor of the Year Award is an award that recognizes such counselors and commends the work that they do for the MCPS community.
According to MCPS Student Services, counselors will be nominated by both faculty and students in both elementary, middle, and high school grade. In addition, the nominated counselors must display “outstanding leadership” and encourage students to learn and “achieve by advocating for equity.”
Students can nominate a counselor starting from Friday, March 11. They must fill out the packet found on MCPS School Counseling Services website here and turn it into the counseling office before 4 p.m. Friday, April 8.
