The CHS cheer and poms teams will host a spirit mini camp from 10am-1pm for girls grade 1-8 on October 18.
Girls enrolled in the camp will receive a set of poms, a tee shirt, admission to the football game, lunch and instruction from current CHS cheer and poms athletes.
“Girls should come to the camp because it will be a fun way for them to get a taste of what it’s like to dance and cheer for the Churchill teams,” junior poms captain Danielle Marks said.
The CHS teams will teach the girls age-appropriate cheer and dance routines. Then during halftime of the CHS vs. RM football game the girls will have the opportunity to preform on the field.
“It will be a fun and exciting experience,” senior cheer captain Elisa Carpenter said. “Also they will be able to preform at the game that night.”
The girls will learn both a cheer and a dance routine. The camp will give them the chance to compare both sports, and get to know some of the athletes.
“They will learn a lot about what we do and how we do it,” Marks said. “And of course we will have fun.”
