There is one thing we can all relate to in our years at Churchill. It is that five-letter word we have a love/hate relationship with: drama. Let me tell you this, it is a waste of time.
Do you want to remember CHS as being filled with drama, fighting with your friends or getting a cup of water thrown at you? No. Your friends are your friends for a reason. We are mature enough to settle our differences, but spending a whole year talking behind each other’s backs and planning revenge against another girl is so first grade.
Seniors, we are going to college in a couple of month and we are going to make new friends, so why hold a grudge about something that happened in high school? Reunions during our breaks should be fun and not full of fighting and reliving high school drama.
Juniors, listen up. Attacking another girl via Facebook status is by far the most immature way of handling your drama. Writing on each other’s walls about another girl, oh please, grow a backbone and say it to her face if you really have a problem with her. Did I mention how lame defriending people on Facebook is? Well, it is.
Girls, we should admire our guy friends for a minute. They rarely have drama, and if they do, it is not a public verbal fight or news the whole school knows about. Their maturity in this area surpasses ours. If they have problems with each other, a simple text works.
Elmo’s Advice to Readers with Drama:
-Take a deep breath.
-Do not spread rumors. It creates more
unnecessary drama.
– Be the bigger person and call or text your friend to talk.
-Do not publicize your drama. It should stay
between you and the other person(s).
